Freight in Action: DA Meets Seasonal Demand Under Pressure
From creative last-mile solutions to coordinating solutions on the fly, DA's team has the experience to ensure successful delivery no matter what.
During a high-stakes seasonal rollout in Q3, our brokerage team supported a national retail supplier specializing in outdoor consumer products.
The objective: move 173 shipments — including 103 LTL, 27 partials, and 43 full truckloads — quickly, cost-effectively, and without compromising service.
Delays at port pushed the timeline tighter than expected. Once containers reached our Brookshire facility and product was prepped, the race was on. Our brokerage team worked swiftly to coordinate a complex, multi-mode freight plan focused heavily on Midwest delivery points. We leveraged a mix of tariff-based LTL partners and spot-market truckload carriers, adapting in real-time to freight size, regional constraints, and delivery site limitations.
Some destinations lacked docks or proper offload equipment. We arranged creative last-mile solutions, including coordinating en-route pallet jack rentals to ensure successful delivery.
To help our client control costs, our team made a strategic decision to optimize carrier selection, combining partials into full truckloads when possible, and shifting modes on the fly to maintain momentum.
The result: a fast, flexible, and responsive freight strategy that kept product moving and seasonal timelines intact, despite a challenging start.
