Our Warehouse and Fulfillment History

Founded in 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota, we have been distributing merchandise for over 80 years to the retail trade.

Initially as Scholls Inc., we worked as a wholesale company delivering a variety of goods directly to our customer’s door. After 50 successful years of servicing big box, grocery, and department stores and due to changing demands we evolved into Distribution Alternatives, a 3rd Party Logistic Company. As a full-service 3PL, we contract with over 60 companies supplying warehousing and fulfillment services, and managing their distribution strategies using our 80 years of supply chain experience.

We have developed a strong, flexible, “can do” attitude drawn from our small family-owned culture; however, we are still large enough to tap industry discounts. Our commitment to flexibility is one of the things that will separate us from our competition.

Even though we have expanded into other parts of the country, we are still proud of our Minnesota heritage, operating our business with strong and honest mid-western values.

Our Client Specialists are communicating daily with our clients giving them the support and information they need to bring it to the next level. These people are the backbone of our organization and the key to our success. It is important for us to make sure you receive the personalized, one on one customer attention that you deserve.

We assign three individuals to assist with your customer service and shipping needs:

  • A Client Manager to oversee the relationship and to assist when necessary.
  • A Client Specialist to handle your day-to-day customer service needs, from order management to tracking.
  • A Supervisor in the warehouse to manage your inventory at all times, while it is stored in our facility.

We believe our best attribute is our ability to be flexible and accommodating to all of our clients’ needs. This starts and ends with our Customer Service Team.
